Ahead of the holidays, Russian Highways reminded motorists of road safety regulations on its highways

Employees of the Avtodor State Company, together with traffic safety enforcement specialists and representatives of contracting organizations, carried out preventive campaigns on the M-12 "Vostok" and M-4 "Don" highways.
On the M-12 "Vostok" highway, employees of Avtodor's Kazan branch, the State Traffic Inspectorate for the Republic of Tatarstan, and representatives of the contracting organization paid special attention to preventing speeding and driving while fatigued. According to statistics, more than one third of road accidents are caused by speeding, and every fifth fatal accident is caused by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel. Motorists were advised to make stops every two hours and were given leaflets with a QR code providing access to a map of all service areas on the M-12 "Vostok" highway.
In addition, representatives of the branch and traffic police officers held briefings and handed out leaflets with information on what to do in case of a forced stop on high-speed roads: turning on hazard lights, calling emergency highway commissioners at *2323, putting on a reflective vest, setting up a warning triangle, and leaving the roadway by stepping over the safety barrier. All drivers and passengers were given information leaflets, while young road users received reflective keychains and brochures outlining safety rules for traveling on Russian Highways roads.
On the M-4 "Don" highway, employees of Russian Highways and 166 military automobile inspectorate took part in the preventive action. The event was aimed at verifying the legal operation of vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces and identifying violations of regulations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation among military personnel.
