Construction of the far-off western bypass around Krasnodar will start in 2018.

This is what has been told about at the meeting between the Chairman of the Board of the State Company Avtodor Sergei Kelbakh and the Governor of Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev held on July 13 on the M-4 Don Federal Highway at the section of 1428th km-1442nd km.

Sergey Kelbakh informed that currently active preparatory works were in progress and should be finished by way of the project submittal to the General Board of State Expert Review (Glavgosexpertiza) by the end of 2017. In case of successful review of the documentation, the project will be approved by spring 2018, whereupon its implementation will start.

Estimated length of the far-off western bypass of Krasnodar is 57 km. The road will be of Class 1B, with four lanes, segregated opposed streams and no crossing at the same level. The estimated driving speed along the future highway will be 120 km/h. There will be seven multilevel interchanges and two highway bridge crossings. Expected traffic intensity in bypass of Krasnodar will be 35,000 vehicles per day.
