On the 26th of February 2019 in the Baltschug Kempinski Hotel, the State Company Avtodor will conduct a business breakfast, in the course of which the issues of new high-speed roads construction and development of adjacent territories will be discussed.
The event will be attended by officials of the Ministry of Russian Transport, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, authorized persons from regional authorities, and business communities represented by major logistics companies and associations such as FBU
Rosavtotrans and representatives of Gazprom Group - OOO Gazprom SPG Technology.
Board Chairman of Avtodor Vyacheslav Petushenko will open the meeting. He was appointed by the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to his new position on February 5, 2019.
Afterwards, there will be a presentation and discussion of the key idea of Avtodor - the Russian part of the international transport route Europe - Western China. It will unite countries having a population of over three billion people: China, Kazakhstan, and Russia. The project is being considered as the Northern hallway of the “Economic Belt of the Silk Way” and will become the world’s longest transport hallway (highway of 8,500 km). The idea was initiated by the chairman of The People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and was supported by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, as well as by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The route passes:
- through the territory of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Orenburg up to the border with the Kazakhstan Republic (about 2,400 km.);
- through the territory of the Kazakhstan Republic: Zhaisan, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Shymkent, Taraz, Almaty, Korgas up to the border with the The People’s Republic of China (2,800 km.);
- through the territory of The People’s Republic of China: Khorgos, Urumchi, Lanzhou, Zhengzhou and Lianyungang (3,400 km.).
The implementation of the project of the “Europe - Western China” International Transport Route will contribute to reduction of the time and cost of transportation of passengers and cargos and also to the development of new logistic communications and routes of transportation of cargos in the regions of Central and Volga Federal Districts, with access to border states.
The Coordination Council for the “Europe - Western China” project is established by the order of the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Dietrich, based on which it is planned to ensure control and resolution of the project’s key issues.
As part of the event, the State Company Avtodor plans to discuss with the business community and federal authorities’ representatives the concept of the coordinated development of transport and logistic infrastructure, including motorway service and providing services to users. Under the coordination of the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Senior Deputy Innokenty Alafinov, an active work with the Ministry of Energy and Russian oil-gas companies for developing of the gas motor fuel market and creating the gas filling infrastructure network on international routes is underway. The usage of the natural gas as a motor fuel is one of the key trends in the transport industry economy, which is necessary to be developed with constant discussing of issues and interests of market participants.
The State Company Avtodor management expect the business breakfast to become the basis for further mutually beneficial business cooperation for the next period of transport industry development (2019-2024), as well as contribute to business cooperation growth under other joint investment projects.
