Frame structures launching on CRR over the Moskva river has been completed

Launching of metal bridge frame structures has been completed on time prior to the start of high shipping season on the Moskva River. It was part of the project of the fourth launch complex of the Central Ring Road (CRR).

The facility comprises a complicated 298 meters long three-span structure, with metal structures' weight being 4,377 tons.
To complete the works ion time prior to the start of the ships' traffic, construction workers introduced some process optimizations and conducted parallel launching instead of a sequenced one envisaged by the initial design (the left part first and then the right part). The optimizations was conditioned by the necessity to erect the navigation span during mid-season (from November 23 up to April 23).

The frame structures were being launched with the use of two hydraulic rams with load-bearing of 400 tons and average travel speed of 15 centimeters per minute from the right bank of the Moskva river towards its left bank. This allowed to carry out the launching of frame structures under no timeline in a trouble-free way. The works have been prefaced by two months of preparation: assembly of the regarding the quality of welding of frame strustures' elements.
402 workers and 14 units of equipment worked to throw the bridge from one river bank to another. Now, constructing workers will perform works on arranging the deck of the bridge.

CRR-4 runs along the Noginsk, Pavlovsky Posad, Voskresensk, and Ramenskoye districts, and along the urban districts of Elektrostal and Domodedovo in the Moscow Region, from M-7 Volga highway to M-4 Don highway. The length of the fourth launch complex amounts to 96.8 km. The project provides for the construction of six junctions and 71 installations (bridges, overpasses and elevated roads)with the total length of 7.5 km. The highway goes across 14 rivers. The facility will be put into operation in October 2021.
