Strength tests of large bridges are carried out at CRR-3

Tests and diagnostics of 69 bridges and crossovers started at the third launch complex of the Central Ring Road (CRR). This is a mandatory stage of acceptance of any road object before commissioning and launching traffic.
Nine large steel-reinforced concrete bridges with the spans which length exceeds 60 meters will undergo strength tests and 60 structures will undergo diagnostics.

Currently, six bridges have been tested: the bridge over the Chernogolovka River, the overhead road over the M-8 Kholmogory, crossovers over the A-107 Moscow Small Ring, as well as two crossovers in the Pushkin District.

Heavy machinery was used for carrying out static tests of the bridges. Six loaded dump trucks weighing 30 tons each were installed on the each span of the bridge. This is the maximum critical load provided for by the construction project drawings and specifications. The bridges were also tested in dynamics: loaded dump trucks drove over them at different speeds, including with a "jump over the threshold" — the dump truck drives through a small specially created rising ground, an obstacle. The devices recorded how the structure behaves under load when tension arises inside it. According to preliminary results, the declared crossovers and bridges have been successfully tested, that is, their carrying capacity corresponds to the construction project drawings and specifications.

During the diagnostics of 60 structures, experts analyzed a number of parameters with the use of special equipment. For example, the strength of concrete was diagnosed with the use of supersonic rays and reinforcements through a special scanner.
All diagnostic results are recorded in the automated information and analytical system for artificial structures, which, together with a mobile application for their examination, helps experts in the operation of structures.
