M-11 "Neva" Highway was recognized as the best project 2019

Following the results of the all-Russian vote, M-11 "Neva" Highway became the winner of the national award "Car of the Year in Russia" in the nomination "Project of the year 2019".

The award ceremony "Russia's Car of the Year", celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, took place in Moscow on Thursday. Georgy Chicherin, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Investments and Strategic Planning took part in the event on behalf of Avtodor State Company.

He congratulated the organizers of the award and all those present on the anniversary, and expressed the hope that in ten years, at the 30th anniversary of the project, it will be possible to drive from St. Petersburg to Yekaterinburg using M-11 and M-12.
"We are now actively engaged in the development of the highway network frame. There is a task set for 2024 to launch traffic from Moscow to Kazan through M-12, and to reach Yekaterinburg by 2030, and Kemerovo by 2035", he noted.

Traffic along the entire length of M-11 "Neva" Highway from Moscow to St. Petersburg was opened on November 27, 2019. Its length is more than 684 kilometers. This is a highway of the highest technical category, built so as to bypass settlements. Driving is allowed at a speed of up to 130 km/h on a number of sections. Travel time between two capitals along this route takes about 5.5 - 6 hours.
