At the International Transport and Logistics Forum, Russian Highways showcases its own innovations

Russian Highways and other transportation companies showcased their own initiatives and advancements during an exhibition of transportation industry accomplishments held at the International Transport and Logistics Forum.

Russian Highways showcased unique proprietary technologies for high-speed highway design, construction, and operation. As they guarantee a high level of quality and enable more work to be completed in a short amount of time, they have an impact on cost reduction. Foreign colleagues will be able to effectively implement all of the State Company's innovations within their own borders.

The Forum participants got acquainted with the intelligent transportation systems, which high-speed highways are equipped with. These include the Automated Traffic Management System (ATMS) incident detection subsystem, the Free Flow system, weather monitoring, video surveillance, road user notification subsystems, and a 24-hour traffic control center.

ATMS lowers the danger of accidents by controlling traffic safety and maintaining comfort on highways.  It gathers information from cameras, sensors and weather stations, analyzes traffic flow and assists road services in responding promptly to events. Russian Highways road network includes over 3,000 video cameras, 3,700 dynamic information boards and variable information signs, and over 2,500 traffic detectors. For continuous monitoring of weather conditions, 163 weather stations have been installed, analyzing data on more than 10 parameters to ensure constant monitoring of the road surface condition.

The Forum attendees got acquainted with the capabilities of the Laboratory of Immersive Technologies. It gives experts a rare chance to use VR and AR to drive on future roads and to produce very accurate and detailed "digital clones" of road elements.   As a result, multiple user testing scenarios (traffic density, different times of day, weather conditions, different vehicles) are established and troublesome road sections are examined.

Also the visitors of the Russian Highways stand had the opportunity to see the demonstration of the "Aerial Inspector" digital module. This is the State Company's own online service for monitoring construction sites, which has extensive experience in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles on road projects. It has the most recent information about the construction site, allows for 24-hour workplace monitoring, lowers the cost of planning site visits, connects video footage in the site's coordinate space, updates and uploads data quickly, and conducts comparative analysis for various time periods.
