The bottom layer of asphalt concrete in the reunified areas is 40% complete.

Under the 2026 program, work in the historical regions is ongoing. To date, in the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, the bottom layer of asphalt concrete has been laid by 40%, and the top layer by almost 25%. In total, Russian Highways State Company should bring more than 836 km of roads to the standard condition.
Thus, in the Donetsk People's Republic 85 kilometers of the lower layer and almost 30 kilometers of the upper layer have been laid, including on the street and road network of Mariupol. Two sections of Lenina Street there already have fresh asphalt concrete surface.
In the Lugansk People's Republic more than 73 kilometers of the lower layer and more than 18 kilometers of the upper layer have been laid. The 40 km of the Rovenki-Georgievka highway, which is utilized by bus routes to Lugansk, and the 24 km of the Sverdlovsk-Biryukovo-Dolzhansky highway, which leads to the border with the Rostov region, are two of the locations where construction is now underway.  
In Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions more than 160 km of the lower layer of the pavement and more than 140 km of the upper layer have been laid. For example, the highway from Priazovskoye to Shevchenko is being overhauled. About 12 km are being brought to a normal condition. 33 kilometers of the Odessa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk roadway are still being restored. The section from Fedorovka to Nizhniye Torgaii is being overhauled.
More than 930 people and 590 units of special equipment are involved in all Russian Highways road projects in historical regions.
