M-12 Vostok was the target of a massive raid in the Nizhny Novgorod region

In collaboration with the regional traffic police divisions and the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport, Russian Highways State Company has carried out over 70 raids on its high-speed roadways since the start of the year.   These events are primarily intended to monitor adherence to traffic safety regulations, state registration mark installation regulations, and the requirement to pay tolls on high-speed routes.
As a result of the raids, 385 administrative violations were revealed, including about 20 vehicles with contaminated state registration plates state registration plate and about 30 cases of deliberate concealment of state registration plates. In addition, 164 cases of non-payment of tolls on high-speed highways were recorded. In other cases, the drivers were prosecuted for various traffic violations.
Joint raids with the participation of traffic police crews are conducted on a regular basis to detect vehicles with hidden plates on M-12 Vostok, A-289 and the Central Ring Road.
Another such event took place on the M-12 Vostok highway in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The raid revealed gross violations of the law: three drivers refused to undergo a medical examination, and another three vehicles were traveling with deliberately hidden state registration plates. There was one instance of a youngster being transported in a car without a particular restraint device.   In addition, six foreign citizens who were in the territory in violation of migration laws were detected.
It should be mentioned that between 2024 and 2025, the percentage of passages on the State Company road network with obscured or illegible state registration plates dropped by almost 45%.
In order to improve driver compliance and guarantee road safety along the turnpikes, Russian Highways State Company and the State Traffic Police will continue to carry out monitoring and preventive actions.
