Sirius discussed the development of high-speed routes in the South of the country

The XII Forum of Road Initiatives "Innovative Technologies and Intelligent Transportation Systems in Road Construction" has started in Sirius. The centerpiece of the first day was the plenary discussion "New Challenges for the Industry. How to achieve results?", dedicated to the development of road infrastructure, transport connectivity of regions and the formation of a new high-speed framework of the country.
The event began with a welcoming speech by Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. The participants of the discussion were Grigory Volkov, Deputy Director of the Construction Department of the Government of the Russian Federation, Igor Kostyuchenko, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Oleg Ponaryin, Deputy Head of the State Traffic Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Highways State Company, as well as heads of regional agencies.
The forum participants discussed the need to increase road capacity, create seamless logistics and develop modern transportation routes. Special attention was paid to the development of transport infrastructure in the southern regions and the Azov-Black Sea area. They discussed the issues of increasing transport accessibility of the Black Sea coast, modernization of key highways and formation of new logistics routes.
A separate block of the plenary discussion was devoted to road safety issues. Oleg Ponaryin, Deputy Head of the Road Safety Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, spoke about the implementation of the Strategy for Improving Road Safety until 2030 and the prospects for reducing road accident deaths.
Russian Highways State Company continues to implement large-scale infrastructure projects in Southern Russia and in the reunified regions.
"The key areas of work remain the development of transport connectivity of the Black Sea coast, reconstruction of the strategically important M-4 "Don" highway, construction of the Adler bypass. At the same time, systematic work is underway to restore the road network in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson Oblasts. From 2022 to 2025, the State Company overhauled more than 2.8 thousand kilometers of highways and 67 artificial structures, which, among other things, were destroyed. The 2026 program provides for the restoration of another 836.6 km of roads and 15 bridge structures. Currently, the program has been implemented by one-third," said Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Highways State Company.
As part of the plenary session, the traffic on the Adler bypass to the Kudepsta sanatorium was launched. It was erected in the course of construction of the Adler bypass interchange with the A-147 federal highway. Traditionally, the Road Initiatives Forum also pays attention to the social agenda. In 2026, the funds raised by the Forum will be used to help families with children in difficult life situations, including residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and recently liberated territories. Support will be provided jointly with charitable foundations under the auspices of the Russian Presidential Ombudsperson for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.
