Traffic on the right bridge across the Don river in Aksay district of Rostov region will be closed from February 14, 2015 for repair. Motor traffic at the 1061st km of the highway M-4 “Don” will be arranged on four lanes of the left bridge (two lanes forward and two lanes backward). The repair works will be completed in November 2015.

Bridge across the Don river at the 1061st+569 km of the highway M-4 “Don” is an element of the integrated transport system of Rostov-on-Don that provides not only transit traffic flows pertaining to the megalopolis but also plays a significant role for local transport connecting industrial, cultural and social facilities located on both banks of the Don river as well as between residential suburbs and regional center.
The bridgework across the Don river at the 1061st+569 km of the highway M-4 “Don” consists of two bridges which are conventionally denoted as the “right” and the “left” one.
From 2012 to 2014, reconstruction of the left bridge was carried out, including demounting and complete disassembly of steel-reinforced concrete superstructure and reinforced concrete poles with subsequent construction of a new bridge. Besides, the works included arrangement of landslide protection structures supporting the unstable right bank of the Don river as well as arrangement of bridge approaches. In addition, fairings and damping devices were mounted on the bridge superstructures in order to provide aerodynamic stability of the bridge, and the road pavement was equipped with automatic anti-icing system.
Once the repair works on the right bridge are completed, the traffic on the bridgework will be arranged by means of three lanes in both directions.
