The road interchange connecting the fifth launch complex of the Central Ring Road and the Leningradskoye Highway in Solnechnogorsk district of Moscow region boasts a high degree of readiness. The new transportation facility is among the most complicated ones on the fifth launch complex. It is located in the flood bed of the Rodomlya River with a swampy terrain and soft soil. In order to strengthen the base of the first junction exit only, the builders need to drill 718 pile shafts to create an actual "pile field", which will then be integrated with a monolithic slab. The length of each pile is 22 meters. This work requires much effort, with four special-purpose machines being able to drill no more than four pile shafts a day. To date, more than a third of the work has already been completed.
The new transport interchange construction is impacted not only by the current highly intense traffic at the Small Concrete Ring (Central Ring Road-5), but also by existing extensive network of utilities at the construction site. This seriously hampers the work of specialists. However, the builders managed to relocate the oil pipeline, communication and power lines within a very short period. Currently, the reconstruction of the main gas pipeline is underway.
