The Russian Highways State Company is in the process of launching a project for the construction of the first section of the Dzhugba-Sochi Highway along the Black Sea coast - the Adler Bypass.
Artificial structures will be erected in arduous conditions of challenging terrain, and tunnels will be built right through the mountain range. To accomplish the project, extraordinary technical solutions are to be devised. The Adler Bypass will become one of the most important infrastructure projects for unleashing the potential of the Black Sea coast and, in particular, Sochi.
Chairman of the Board of the State Company Vyacheslav Petushenko claimed this at an off-site meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council (STC) of the Russian Highways State Company held at the Moscow Automobile and Highway State Technical University (MADI), addressing members of the STC with an invitation to participate in their development.
The meeting was attended by the Rector of MADI Artyom Azhgirevich, Director General of Avtodor-Engineering LLC Konstantin Mogilny, as well as representatives of Rosavtodor and other road industry experts.
Key points as implementation of new projects, enhancing road safety, the use of artificial intelligence, the development of high-speed Internet networks along highways, increasing turnaround times, technologies to speed up construction, and improving environmental safety are included in the Innovative Development Program of the Russian Highways State Company for the period of 2025-2029 that was discussed at the conference.
Vyacheslav Petushenko thanked the Council members for their support in the implementation of the M-12 Vostok construction project. The decisions made at the Council allowed to open traffic along 415 km of the new highway from Moscow to Arzamas ahead of schedule, to extend the route to Kazan by the end of the year. He expressed special gratitude to MADI students who, as part of their internship, took part in the construction of the M-12.
In turn, the Rector of MADI Artyom Azhgirevich remarked that it was a great honor for the university to host the meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the State Company. Furthermore, he paid special attention to the education of future experts.
“The most valuable thing is participation in your projects, this is what we need as part of shaping up the next generation of specialists in our industry. And that is why, we are always ready to cooperate. As part of today’s event, I wish it to go off productively, so that the decisions that we have made here would be realized, so that we mutually turn to each other for experience and expertise that we can pass on to our young,” stressed Artyom Azhgirevich.
The year 2023 has been declared the Year of the Educationists and Mentors by the Decree of Russia's President Vladimir Putin. The state company Avtodor, together with its subsidiaries and contractors, continues active cooperation with leading Russian universities and, as part of organizing practical training for students, gives students the opportunity to try themselves in the road industry.
